GamiPress Zapier GPL Overview:
- Zapier lets you integrate GamiPress interactions with thousands of third-party web services, including Google Sheets, Slack, Mailchimp, Twitter, Zendesk, Dropbox, Instagram, and more!
- In just a few minutes, you will be able to send GamiPress information to any Zapier service with relevant information like user and achievement details when a user earns an achievement.
- Important: You need a Zapier premium account to get access to webhooks (only signing up on Zapier you will get a 14-day trial of premium features).
Note: This add-on is designed to send data to Zapier (using GamiPress as a trigger for a Zap).
If you need to receive data from Zapier (to use it as an action for a Zap) you need our Rest API Extended add-on.
GamiPress Zapier GPL Features
- Data will be automatically sent when the user earns something (an achievement, a rank, a points award, an achievement step, etc).
- Connect GamiPress and you WordPress with thousands of services.
- Ability to send a test to preview data sent to Zapier.
GamiPress Zapier GPL Sample Use Cases
- Email & SMS Send notifications when a user earns an achievement (e.g. Twilio, Gmail).
- social share custom content on any social network when a user earns points (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
- Spreadsheets Add earning details to a shared spreadsheet or CSV file (e.g. Google Docs, Dropbox, Google Drive).
- Mailing list updates your mailing list (e.g. MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, AWeber, SendGrid).
- Contacts Add user details to your address book when earning a rank (Google Contacts).

GamiPress Zapier GPL Settings
You will find the GamiPress Zapier GPL settings on your WordPress admin area navigating to the GamiPress menu -> Settings -> Add-ons tab.
On this box, you will find settings for each of the different events that could be connected to Zapier:
- Achievements: To connect achievement earns with Zapier.
- Steps: To connect steps completion with Zapier.
- Points Awards: To connect points awards completion with Zapier.
- Points Deducts: To connect points deducts completion with Zapier.
- Ranks: To connect rank earns with Zapier.
- Rank Requirements: To connect rank requirements completion with Zapier.
All of them offers the same configarion:
- Webhook URL: Zapier’s webhook URL. On the Send data to Zapier you will find instructions about how to get this URL.
- Request Method: Request method used to send the request. If not sure, leave it to POST.

Send data to Zapier
Before start, there is something important to meet about Zapier. Zapier lets you connect different services between them. The way Zapier performs it is by letting you create Zaps (this is commonly known as recipes in other platforms).
A Zap has 2 important parts:
- Trigger: On Zapier, this is know as “When this happens..”.
- Action: On Zapier, this is know as “Do this..”.
So Zapier lets you configure unlimited configurations with those zaps:
When this happens… New file gets uploaded to Google Drive
Do this… Send a SMS through Twillio
Sending data to Zapier, lets you configure the trigger part (When this happens…) so you will be able to configure something like:
When this happens… An user earns an achievement on GamiPress
Do this… Create a spreadsheet row with the user data on Google Sheets
Configuring the trigger (When this happens…)
To begin, make sure you have a Zapier account. Then you’ll want to start by setting up a new Zap with a webhook:
1) Go to Zapier.
2) Create a new zap by clicking the button Make a Zap!.
3) Find and click the Webhooks icon in the Built-in Apps section.
4) Choose Catch Hook to tell Zapier to wait for communications from GamiPress, then click on Continue.
